Merry Christmas

Hello everyone,
It's been a while...I'm making some cards for Christmas and decided I'd enter the challenge.

I'm afraid I've left it until the last minute (again) and I'm pleased to find the challenge, because I've used the colours as my inspiration.

I'm pleased with how this card has turned out.

I've used an embossing folder for the background ( cream cardstock)  and sprayed with green mist.
I had to use a rub on for the message because the cardstock was difficult to stamp.

The ponsettia is from PTI. I stamped in black and then used distress ink to colour. I've cut it out by hand and addes some sequins to the centre for a bit of bling.

I've placed it onto some green cardstock and then I rounded the bottom left corner.
I decided it was ok to stop there!

The inspiration has been useful, so I think I'll have to enter more challenges in 2015.

Thanks for looking. I'll be around to visit posts later tonight.

Butterflies and cake

Hello, I decided I should try the June Challenge at Scrapbook Boutique  as I have some stamps which just fit the bill.
 I hope you like them.

The butterflies are PTI and the cupcakes are from Stampin Up.
I've stamped the images with coloured ink and then clear embossed them.

I thought the words fitted the images well and they are from Impression Obsession.

Here is the challenge picture.
I went with the colours and the butterflies and the cupcakes.

Thanks for looking! I'll be around to comment tomorrow.

Watercolour flowers

I've been enjoying an online watercolour class. It's been fun and I've been trying some new techniques.

I'm sharing this at Less is More -week 172 -the challenge is Flowers, and I'll place it into the student gallery at the online watercolour class.

I've used Distress Inks and some masking and tried to utilise the ideas I've seen in the videos for the class.

The image is from Flourishes Stamps-Zinnias, and the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted-Pretty Petals.

I'm not so happy with how the leaves look really but as it's a first effort, I hope to improve as I practice.

Thanks for looking!

Red for me!

Hello everyone, here is a quick post for the CASE Study Challenge #185

I've been looking at all the lovely cards for the Case Study challenge for a while now and I've decided to join in. The first challenge for April has a new Muse,  Jaclyn Miller!
I really like the clean lines of  Jaclyn's card and here is my take on the challenge.

I've used a Lil' Inker rectangle die for the top section of the card and created the red flowers with two layers from PTI's Garden Grace. The leaves from the same set are stamped with Encore Metallic Silver.

I've then used a PTI Garden Grace die to emboss the design. This is the first time I've tried this and I'm happy with the result. I first saw this technique on Iwonas card and you can take a look here  .

The sentiment is Hero Arts -What's Up.

I did enjoy this case so I'll be back again when the next case is offered.
Here is the card from Jaclyn which inspired me.

Thanks for looking.

Hydrangea

Hello everyone,

It's an age since I added a card the Monday  Challenge at Stamp TV   so I decided I should get into it again.

I'm also going to enter this card onto the Seize The Birthday challenge for  "Änything Goes Birthday". It a belated birthday card .I'm hoping it will be the first of many ( birthday cards that is- not belated...).

This is a new metal hydranga die (for me) and I've coloured the pieces with distress ink.

It looked slightly bare and needed somthing extra I though, so, I cut the front panel back a little and placed some gold washi tape on the inside edge of the card -it is visible when the card is closed.
I ran a gold pen around the edge to finish it all off!

The die is from Impression Obsession. The sentiment is Hero Arts( What's Up).

The card is a belated offering for a friend who has just turned 70!

Christmas

Hello everyone,
Sometimes our rejects can be reworked. Yay!

I actually made this card last week - with a snowflake theme. I sprayed some Distress Ink onto a memory box snowflake stencil and used a dark room door sentiment. But it lacked a focal point.

Today I placed  a pine cone die cut on the right hand corner and gee....it works for me!
I added lashings of wink of stella- but I've failed to capture the shimmer in the photo.

I've made this card for the Festive Friday Challenge

Take a look.....at the challenge and start your Christmas cards early this year.

Snowflake

I thought I may as well add another, so here is the second card I made for the Festive Friday photo inspiration challenge.

This is an elusive images stamp and it's the first time I've used it.

I do like snowflakes but I cannot use them on cards because we don't have snow here at Christmas!

I've heat embossed again with a Stampendous  powder and used some distress ink for the background.
The sentiment is from Darkroom Door and the tiny pine leaves are a PTI stamp.

I'm sorry I've left it too late to visit tonight, so I'll be around omorrow instead.

Thanks for looking!

Sparkles

Hello everyone, this is my first challenge entry for 2014...
I've been making cards but I've been busy and haven't had time to upload the cards to my blog.

I've made the card below for the Festive Friday Challenge and here is the inspiration photo...

I've used Stampendous embossing powder which glitters and then sponged with two shades of distress ink.
The stamp is from PTI jar fillers.

Thanks for looking.
