Polka dots

Hello everyone, this is my first visit to  http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com.au/- I just happened by ( via a link from Meadie's blog) and saw the polka dot CAS challenge.
My card was made on Saturday when I tried to die cut a flourish for another card.
The die didn't cut through- but I liked the look of it and used it as the basis for this card.
The flower is made with a Sizzix die and  dp paper.
The overall effect is soft and I'm pleased how it turned out. I hope it qualifies as CAS.
I had trouble taking a photo and had to go outside- sorry about the pergola roof in the second photo!

Thanks for looking!

  2. Really pretty, Julie! I love the look of your flourish, also. And your lovely flower!

Just a hint on the photos (when you don't want to show your pergola, or your messy kitchen bench... not that I ever did that ;-) LOL!) If you use two pieces of cardstock - one for base and one for back - you'll get a consistent, clean, non-distracting background for your gorgeous cards to take centre stage.

  5. I like the half-cut effect, it gives dimension to the background. Just shows how disasters can turn into triumphs!

  10. Isn't it fabulous when things don't quite work out for one card and turn another card into something beautiful?! I love how portions of the die are lifted up and your flower is gorgeous! Your polka dotted paper is perfect. Thanks for playing along this week at CAS-ual Fridays!
