Coloured Vellum

Hello, and happy Wednesday!
We've had some glorious days ( see pic above) and at last we've seen some wonderful rain and some cooler temperatures .
I've been taking an online class which has been fabulous and I have a card to share.

This online class has some great teacher such as:
Jennifer Mcguire, Kristina Werner, Debby Hughes, Dawn Woleslagle, Kelly Marie Alvarez,
Laura Bassen, Nicole Spohr Magouirk, Shari Carroll and  Yana Smakula.
These ladies have some great work online.

On Day 2 of the class Jennifer shared a technique for colouring vellum, which I've used on my card.
I coloured the vellum on the back with ink and attached it to a  Church window die .
The sentiments are from the Care & Comfort 11 (set of 9 ) from Taylored Expressions.
I also added some white wink of stella to tone down the colour a little. It looks really effective in real life but a little difficult to capture on camera. It looks quite ethereal.

I've enjoyed the class and I've got plans to make many more cards with vellum and acetate in the weeks ahead.

Birthday wishes

Hello there,
Well it's almost May and I haven't shared a card this year !
We've had a lovely warm summer and autumn. It's been difficult to stay inside and make cards.

Anyway I've just made this card and I'm sharing it for the  April Scrapbook Challenge
I've white heat embossed a Stampin Up rose and then added water to the enclosed areas before dropping in the colour.

Here is the inspiration board  for the challenge.
As you can see, I went with the rose image.
The square blocks of the board encouraged me to shape my image and card as I have.
Thanks for looking!

Christmas

Hello there, time to make some Christmas cards.....and here is a quick card with no stamping.
Maybe it's a little too glittery...but then Christmas can be sparkle.

I'm placing this into the Merry Monday Challenge 181 which is blue and white with texture.
I hope there is enough texture with the glitter paper and the die cut.
I played with some distress ink and perfect pearls to make the background and then used a Kaszazz die cut.
Great challenge and it has got me started on the cards...I'll be back!.

Pink Cameo

Hello, everyone,
It's been a while since I loaded a card to my blog, because I have such trouble getting a decent photo. The colours are usually too pale or not true to real life.

I was inspired by the cameo and the pale pinks  in the challenge photo.
I've used a Diamond Cameo folder by Couture creations and then sponged the pale pink card with a soft pink distress ink.
I've used some MFT blueprint 18 dies and kraft cardstock.

I'm posting this card to the Scrapbook Boutique Challenge.

and, the Day 5 student gallery at online card classes. devoted to backgrounds!
Today one of the classes is teaching embossing and sponging backgrounds.

 It's been great so far.

I hope you like it. I'll be back to look and comment on both galleries shortly.

Thanks for looking!

Merry Christmas

Hello everyone,
It's been a while...I'm making some cards for Christmas and decided I'd enter the challenge.

I'm afraid I've left it until the last minute (again) and I'm pleased to find the challenge, because I've used the colours as my inspiration.

I'm pleased with how this card has turned out.

I've used an embossing folder for the background ( cream cardstock)  and sprayed with green mist.
I had to use a rub on for the message because the cardstock was difficult to stamp.

The ponsettia is from PTI. I stamped in black and then used distress ink to colour. I've cut it out by hand and addes some sequins to the centre for a bit of bling.

I've placed it onto some green cardstock and then I rounded the bottom left corner.
I decided it was ok to stop there!

The inspiration has been useful, so I think I'll have to enter more challenges in 2015.

Thanks for looking. I'll be around to visit posts later tonight.

Butterflies and cake

Hello, I decided I should try the June Challenge at Scrapbook Boutique  as I have some stamps which just fit the bill.
 I hope you like them.

The butterflies are PTI and the cupcakes are from Stampin Up.
I've stamped the images with coloured ink and then clear embossed them.

I thought the words fitted the images well and they are from Impression Obsession.

Here is the challenge picture.
I went with the colours and the butterflies and the cupcakes.

Thanks for looking! I'll be around to comment tomorrow.

Watercolour flowers

I've been enjoying an online watercolour class. It's been fun and I've been trying some new techniques.

I'm sharing this at Less is More -week 172 -the challenge is Flowers, and I'll place it into the student gallery at the online watercolour class.

I've used Distress Inks and some masking and tried to utilise the ideas I've seen in the videos for the class.

The image is from Flourishes Stamps-Zinnias, and the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted-Pretty Petals.

I'm not so happy with how the leaves look really but as it's a first effort, I hope to improve as I practice.

Thanks for looking!

Red for me!

Hello everyone, here is a quick post for the CASE Study Challenge #185

I've been looking at all the lovely cards for the Case Study challenge for a while now and I've decided to join in. The first challenge for April has a new Muse,  Jaclyn Miller!
I really like the clean lines of  Jaclyn's card and here is my take on the challenge.

I've used a Lil' Inker rectangle die for the top section of the card and created the red flowers with two layers from PTI's Garden Grace. The leaves from the same set are stamped with Encore Metallic Silver.

I've then used a PTI Garden Grace die to emboss the design. This is the first time I've tried this and I'm happy with the result. I first saw this technique on Iwonas card and you can take a look here  .

The sentiment is Hero Arts -What's Up.

I did enjoy this case so I'll be back again when the next case is offered.
Here is the card from Jaclyn which inspired me.

Thanks for looking.

Hydrangea

Hello everyone,

It's an age since I added a card the Monday  Challenge at Stamp TV   so I decided I should get into it again.

I'm also going to enter this card onto the Seize The Birthday challenge for  "Änything Goes Birthday". It a belated birthday card .I'm hoping it will be the first of many ( birthday cards that is- not belated...).

This is a new metal hydranga die (for me) and I've coloured the pieces with distress ink.

It looked slightly bare and needed somthing extra I though, so, I cut the front panel back a little and placed some gold washi tape on the inside edge of the card -it is visible when the card is closed.
I ran a gold pen around the edge to finish it all off!

The die is from Impression Obsession. The sentiment is Hero Arts( What's Up).

The card is a belated offering for a friend who has just turned 70!

Christmas

Hello everyone,
Sometimes our rejects can be reworked. Yay!

I actually made this card last week - with a snowflake theme. I sprayed some Distress Ink onto a memory box snowflake stencil and used a dark room door sentiment. But it lacked a focal point.

Today I placed  a pine cone die cut on the right hand corner and gee....it works for me!
I added lashings of wink of stella- but I've failed to capture the shimmer in the photo.

I've made this card for the Festive Friday Challenge

Take a look.....at the challenge and start your Christmas cards early this year.

Snowflake

I thought I may as well add another, so here is the second card I made for the Festive Friday photo inspiration challenge.

This is an elusive images stamp and it's the first time I've used it.

I do like snowflakes but I cannot use them on cards because we don't have snow here at Christmas!

I've heat embossed again with a Stampendous  powder and used some distress ink for the background.
The sentiment is from Darkroom Door and the tiny pine leaves are a PTI stamp.

I'm sorry I've left it too late to visit tonight, so I'll be around omorrow instead.

Thanks for looking!

Sparkles

Hello everyone, this is my first challenge entry for 2014...
I've been making cards but I've been busy and haven't had time to upload the cards to my blog.

I've made the card below for the Festive Friday Challenge and here is the inspiration photo...

I've used Stampendous embossing powder which glitters and then sponged with two shades of distress ink.
The stamp is from PTI jar fillers.

Thanks for looking.

Wishing you Peace...

I've surprised myself -I'm back!
I do love this challenge at Festive Friday -I'm building up my store for Christmas.

Here is another card for the week with the theme peace.
I've gone with the same colours and the idea of hands holding something.
I've used washi tape at the side ( and it's coming off. Ill have to fix that).

The angel is stamped and paper pieced.
I used a background stamp and then stamped the angel and cut the gown out.
The angel is from Whimsical wishes-Taylored Expressions
The sentiment is PTI- Happiest of Holidays..

Peace...

Hello everyone, it's taken me some time to post again.
I do find time to make the cards but  I delay the posting and I'm not sure why.
This card was quick but I like it.
The challenge on Festive Friday is for a card with the word peace as the theme.
The text and the heart are both from Annabelle stamps.
I drew a freehand line to hold the heart and it was finished. The card is 4 x 4 inches.
The words are straight - for some reason they look slanted in the photo and blurry...maybe that's why I put  off posting!.

.

I've added this photo because it's not so blurry!

 Thanks for looking!
I'll be around soon to take a look at all the lovely creations!

Candy Canes

Good afternoon everyone,
I enjoyed the pink white and silver card for the last Festive Friday challenge and I definitely need more Christmas cards so I'm back again. The challenge this time is for a card with Candy Canes.

This stamp is from Inkadinkado .
I've heat embossed the stocking with gold and the top with glitter on craft card..
The candy canes are inked with fired brick distress ink and clear embossed.
The sentiment at the top is from PTI.
The background is a Julie Nutting Tag Pad - so the card was quick to put together.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking.

Pink, Silver and White Christmas

Hello everyone,
I found a new challenge at Festive Friday and thought I'd like to join in!
Darnell suggested I enter this in the Addicted to CAS challenge as well.
The cue is glitter so I guess that makes sense . I've edited this post to do just that . Thanks Darnell!
I've had this card made for a few days now but I've had trouble taking a photo.
The colours seem to show grey and it actually has quite a bit of pink - but it's hard to tell on the photo.
The  Christmas tree is from Annabelle stamps - it's an Australian company.

I've used pale pink sequins on some of the circles but they're hard to see so I added a few hot pink as well. There is pink glitter in other circles and  Copic marker around the circles to add to the silver look!
It sure sparkles in real life.
The Merry Christmas is a Smooches stamp.

Thanks for looking.

RED shoes

I had to try this Prima stamp as well for the Less is More challenge.
The inspiration is a Pinterest  photo of some high heeled shoes.
I've been thinking... and red shoes and clicking heels came to mind! So I've made another card.
The skirt is layered once again and the shoes have  glossy accents  applied- they look good I think.
I've printed  the words as I have no shoe themed sentiments.

Thanks for looking!

More shoes...

"Here's another card for  this weeks "Less is More"challenge .

Week 130 A Pinterest Picture Inspiration

I've had these JustRite-Just Keep Calm stamps for some time and haven't used them.
I was just waiting for an idea and who knew it would be shoes!
I heat embossed the stamped images and cut around the frame with the scissors.
I'm happy with the result!

Thanks for looking.

put on your dancing shoes

Hello again.... it's been a few months once again!
I don't know what happens really.
I have been making cards I just haven't gotten around to posting them.
Anyway- here are some cards I made today made for the new "Less is More" challenge.

Week 130 A Pinterest Picture Inspiration

and the picture is FAB shoes.

I made the second card first  and decided  it may be too busy for "Less is More".
So, I made another  ( although I think I like the busy one more).
The figure is a Prima Doll stamp which I've paper pieced.
I decided to show only the skirt and the legs because it gave more emphasis to the SHOES.
The sentiment is one I made up and printed. I cut up the words and coloured  with distress ink.
The cards look great in real life because the skirt and petticoat are layered!
The orange skirt isn't black on the right side- it's the shadow on the layered sections.
I hope you like them.

I enjoyed the paper cutting...so I might be back sooner rather than later!
Cheers for now and thanks for looking!

Happy Easter

Here is my take on the CASalogy challenge- the cue is BUNNY.

 My stamp is from Kazzaz.
I've stamped it twice and then coloured and cut one bunny  to layer on the other.
Thanks for looking!
